Abstract:

This paper acknowledges that research-industry (R-I) synergy is low within developing economies like Zimbabwe despite spirited efforts for the contrary. Academia and industry are often blamed for not breaking the “silos” between them. The lack of synergy is often considered key in limiting development. This paper evaluates the prevailing conditions of existence and points out what needs improvement for the synergy messages to be turned into fruits.
