Electric vehicles (EVs) are being looked at by the automotive industry as a potential booster for India's growing economy and tool for preservation of ecology. Due to the significant energy, cost and environmental benefits, low exhaust emissions and less reliance on fossil fuels, e-vehicles is a game-changer for the transportation industry. In the evolution of the energy system, the electrification of vehicles is a disruptive force that fundamentally alters the roles of many industries, technologies, and fuels in long-term transformation. Hence present study examines the awareness and perception of customers in the city of Mandya. The analysis of data using t-test indicates that the respondents are well informed about the availability and utility of EVs. Further it highlights factors influencing the purchase decision of these vehicles which is very beneficial for companies to plan their marketing activities.
