In this study, the researcher aims to explore the part played by strategic foresight in improving knowledge management in the Directorate of Education in Salah al-Din Governorate. In the context of the current problems of the educational system, strategic foresight is believed to be one of the key tools that enhances the effectiveness of knowledge management and orients it toward the achievement of educational objectives. The study starts by defining the concept of strategic foresight and knowledge management, followed by the description of the current state in the Directorate of Education in Salah al-Din Governorate. The issues and opportunities affecting the Directorate in its endeavour to put into practice KM initiatives are discussed, including the issues of failing to identify the future changes and the efficient use of the available knowledge. The study also suggests the application of the strategic foresight tools in the knowledge management activities in the Directorate of Education in Salah al-Din Governorate and the establishment of training programs to enhance the capabilities of the administrators in the application of the tools required in the implementation of the knowledge management system.
