Tourism in numerous developing nations has been depicted as a facilitator of small-scale industries, so directly enhancing living conditions and serving as a catalyst for community development. The homestay idea has emerged as an achievable sector of the travel and tourism sector, providing a venue to showcase local resources, customs, legacy, lifestyle, and indigenous culture in order to attract tourists. The environmental systems connected to nature-based tourism have suffered irreparably as a result of mass tourism. Consequently, homestay accommodations emerge as the sole viable alternative. This study aims to shed light on the relationship between motivational factors, empowerment, and sustainability outcomes towards homestay operators in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. To meet the objectives; the study has used both qualitative and quantitative data from primary and secondary data sources. The primary data was gathered from 70 Homestay operators using random sampling from Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The secondary data was collected from books, newspaper articles, academic journals, internet and other relevant documents related to homestay. The study used structured questionnaire to acquire primary data from respondents. This study demonstrates that homestay entrepreneurs were empowered to enhance their capacity in increasing human capital and sustaining their enterprises. The findings demonstrated economic and social sustainability in relation to environmental impacts. Furthermore, the results of this study will be useful to all parties involved in the homestay program, particularly the participants. Participants in the study will be able to determine the needs of domestic guests in relation to the quality of services and amenities provided by the homestay.
