Abstract:

Effective communication about environmental policy plays a crucial role in shaping public perceptions and attitudes toward environmental issues. Clear, transparent, and evidence-based messaging helps to build trust and understanding among the public, which is essential for the successful implementation of environmental regulations. However, the complexity of environmental policies, coupled with differing stakeholder interests and media portrayals, can lead to misunderstandings, skepticism, or resistance from various segments of society. In this article we will also talk about how entertainment industries can contribute to environmental issues and on peoples perception.
Studies suggest that framing environmental policy discussions in ways that align with local values, economic concerns, or public health benefits can significantly influence how policies are perceived. Furthermore, misinformation and political polarization can distort public perceptions, making it critical for policymakers, scientists, and the media to collaborate on delivering consistent and accessible information. Ultimately, the effectiveness of environmental policy is closely linked to the public’s comprehension and acceptance, which can be enhanced through strategic, inclusive communication. Environmental communication would be more effective if public communicators considered the (sometimes contradictory) social and psychological factors that impact sustainable behaviour. Movies and social media can paly a quite good role in communicating the serious issue among the public.
