The pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) has gained significant attention as a high-value horticultural commodity due to its health benefits and growing global demand. However, its supply chain faces substantial challenges, including high post-harvest losses, price volatility, and fragmented logistics networks. This research investigates the key barriers in the pomegranate supply chain and explores opportunities for improvement through strategic management. A comprehensive review of existing literature and industry reports reveals that inadequate cold storage facilities, inconsistent harvesting practices, and lack of market integration contribute to inefficiencies, reducing profitability for all stakeholders. Additionally, the integration of advanced technologies such as blockchain for traceability and improved post-harvest handling techniques is identified as a promising solution to enhance supply chain transparency and quality control. The study also highlights the importance of fostering stronger collaboration between growers, processors, and retailers to streamline operations and reduce costs. The findings suggest that a holistic, technology-driven approach to supply chain management, combined with infrastructure investments and collaborative efforts, can mitigate existing challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth and value creation in the global pomegranate market.
