Abstract:

Industry 5.0 builds upon the foundations of Industry 4.0 by integrating advanced technologies like IoT, big data, and AI with a human-centric approach. This industrial revolution emphasises personalised manufacturing, with humans collaborating alongside intelligent machines to meet evolving consumer preferences. While Industry 4.0 is still developing and becoming fully mature, Industry 5.0 is already taking shape. Industry 5.0, which is regarded as the fifth industrial revolution, gives consumers the ability to satisfy their distinctive requirements and preferences depending on their preferences and expectations. Customized items are helping the Industrial Revolution increase client happiness. Adopting Industry 5.0 is crucial in today's corporate environment, which is characterized by quick technical breakthroughs, to maintain a competitive edge and spur economic growth for industrial facilities. Although India presents significant opportunities for adopting Industry 5.0 due to its large manufacturing base, the challenges of infrastructure investment and skill development remain substantial. This research investigates both the prospects and challenges of implementing Industry 5.0 in India, drawing on a comprehensive review of the current literature. India has vast potential but needs a robust strategy to overcome challenges related to infrastructure, funding, and cybersecurity.
