This study explores consumer preferences for sports equipment in Coimbatore, analyzing factors such as income levels, spending patterns, and product selection criteria. The research highlights the growing demand for sports gear driven by increasing fitness awareness and sports participation. Key determinants influencing consumer choices include brand reputation, product quality, pricing, and technological advancements. The findings indicate that higher-income groups tend to spend more on sports gear, as revealed by the ANOVA test (p = 0.013). Additionally, preferences vary across different sports, emphasizing the need for specialized product offerings. The study provides insights for manufacturers and retailers to tailor their strategies, ensuring a balance between affordability and quality. Understanding consumer behavior will help optimize marketing efforts and inventory management. By addressing diverse consumer needs, businesses can enhance customer satisfaction and drive market growth. This research contributes to a better understanding of purchasing decisions in the sports equipment industry.
