Abstract:

This article is based on an elaborate study on the impact of quality of work life on morale of the working women in Pondicherry. Women now a day constitute an indispensable component of organizational workforce. In this sense it is vitally important for any organisation to enhance the productivity of their women employees. Quality of work life (QWL) denotes the value or worth of the work delivered by the individuals. Morale on the other hand represents the mental state of an individual. This study focused on the association between these two aspects of women employees. Throughout this study, various dimensions of QWL and their relationship with morale were explored, including physical working environment, adequate and fair compensation, work and life space, work autonomy, career advancement opportunities, welfare measures and their influence on women's morale in the workplace. It was found that creating a supportive and inclusive work environment and compassionate family is essential in boosting the morale of women employees.
