South India’s dynamic it workforce: Investigating the impact of resilience, well-being, work culture, work life balance and self efficacy on work place commitment

Abstract:

Within the dynamic landscape of the information technology sector, characterized by intense competition and rapid technological advancements, studying employee commitment is of paramount importance. Recognising the importance of commitment can not only mitigate employee turnover but also increase productivity and encourage innovation. In today’s evolving digital environment maintaining a skilled workforce, ensuring projects continuity, and adapting to the changing market demands are vital. The prime most objective of the undertaken study is to examine the influence of resilience, well-being of employees, work-life balance initiatives, self-efficacy & work culture on employee commitment within the South Indian IT industry. Employing a descriptive research methodology, the study encompassed 422 employees from diverse IT organisations selected through a stratified random sampling technique. The primary objective is to investigate the ways in which these five crucial characteristics contribute to improving employee commitment, which is a vital component for both organizational performance and employee satisfaction. Data collection utilized a structured questionnaire that was analysed using SPSS & AMOS. The findings of the study point out the significant and positive influence of resilience, well-being of employees, work-life balance, self-efficacy & work culture have a notable and beneficial effect on employee commitment. These results highlight the significance of these attributes in nurturing a dedicated workforce. By presenting factual insights from the IT sector in a developing nation, the study enriches the existing body of knowledge, offering valuable insights for organisational leaders and HR professionals.
